In 2018, an updated Ford Transit Connect Wagon van appeared on the European market, which received a number of visual changes, upgraded engines and a significantly expanded list of standard and optional equipment.
Note that the car is in a fairly popular segment, where there are not so many competitors yet. This means that the car has every chance to demonstrate even better sales and compete for the status of a bestseller, for which it has everything you need and even more.
Exterior
Usually, vans do not have a bright and dynamic appearance, since their main task is to be as practical and roomy as possible, and everything else is secondary. But this certainly does not apply to the Ford Transit Connect, because this car has a modern, attractive and moderately aggressive and dynamic appearance.
The front part of the body meets with a relief hood, formidable head optics, a proprietary false radiator grille and a neat bumper. By the way, the latter has sheltered a large air intake and neat rounds of fog lights.
The profile of the van shows the inflated wheel arches that some crossovers might envy, as well as embossed sidewalls and body-colored plastic moldings. It is also worth mentioning the large glass area, flat roofline and large sliding rear doors. The car rests on the ground with 205/60 R16 tires, equipped with light-alloy wheels.
The "sirloin" part of the body is represented by large, vertically positioned, side lights and two hinged doors that open access to the impressive luggage compartment. Immediately, we note a large selection of body colors, represented by 10 colors.

The height of the ground clearance, unfortunately, is not disclosed by the manufacturer, but it is definitely not lower than 160 mm, which, in our opinion, is more than enough for confident movement around the city and on a suburban road.
Interior decoration
The salon of the updated Ford Transit Connect welcomes guests with high-quality design, high-quality assembly and solid finishing materials. In front of the driver there is a perfectly readable dashboard, complemented by a large LCD display of the trip computer, and a stylish 4-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
At the top of the central dashboard, the manufacturer placed a 6-inch touchscreen of the multimedia center, and just below it, a laconic audio control unit.
This is followed by a small storage compartment, and even lower - an intuitive control unit for the climate system, affixed with several buttons and a pair of functional twists. It is also worth noting the presence of a spacious glove compartment, located directly opposite the front passenger.
Depending on the length of the wheelbase and the equipment option, the car can be with 5, 6 and 7 seats (including the driver).
The first row of seats is represented by comfortable seats, sporting good lateral support, a lot of adjustments and heating.
The second row can be represented by a three-seater sofa or two free-standing armchairs. There is plenty of free space here in all directions, so passengers sitting here can easily survive even long trips.
The third row of seats is traditionally more suitable for short riders and children.
The luggage compartment volume in the standard wheelbase version varies between 1029-1838 liters, while in the extended modification it can be:
- with a 6-7-seater cabin - 322 liters;
- with a 5-seater cabin - 1529 liters;
- with a 2-seater saloon - 2761 liters.
The declared carrying capacity is 504-534 liters, depending on the version of the car.

In the European market, the car is offered with an uncontested 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine, available in two forcing:
- for 100 "horses" and 240-270 Nm of torque, allowing to develop the first hundred in 12.2-13.3 seconds, reach the maximum 163 km / h and consume about 5 l / 100 km;
- 120 liters. with. and a maximum torque of 270 Nm, which allows you to accelerate to the first "hundred" in 12.6 seconds, develop a maximum speed of 171 km / h and consume the same 5 l / 100 km in combined mode.
In the first case, the buyer can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed "automatic", while in the second, the choice is limited exclusively to the 6-speed "mechanics". However, in each of the markets where the "van" is presented, the choice of the checkpoint may be slightly different.
At the heart of the car is a slightly improved platform of its predecessor, but the rest was unchanged. Disc brakes are responsible for braking, located on both axles, and the front ones are equipped with a ventilation system. The rack and pinion steering is supplemented with an electric booster.
