Mandatory technical inspection was canceled in Ukraine in 2011, but four years later they want to return it back again. Will this be so, and how the inspection will take place.

Any car enthusiast knows that in European countries, cars must undergo a mandatory inspection, as it was in Ukraine until 2011, in the same year a law was adopted to abolish the mandatory inspection.

Four years later, the Ukrainian government again raised the issue of returning the mandatory technical inspection of all cars, without exception. So, from January 1, 2016, the mandatory technical inspection of cars for everyone can already be returned back. This was stated by Oleg Nazarenko, head of the All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Dealers and Importers.

Such an unpleasant procedure for drivers should be returned due to the Association Agreement with the EU. At first, it was planned to introduce MOT in stages, starting in 2017. The first planned to check trucks and trailers, buses of international class. Since 2019, technical inspection of private cars in Ukraine. And starting from 2022 technical inspection of motorcycle equipment.

The reason for this acceleration was the introduction of mandatory maintenance in the EU countries from January 1, 2015. In the new project, there are many amendments and control over the passage of MOT. One of such amendments will be the introduction of a new system for checking the suitability of a vehicle, as well as the responsibility of inspection stations for the carried out vehicle inspection. Regarding new cars, they will be MOT for the first time 4-5 years after the purchase from a car dealership. Cars over 5 years old, have a service station every two years.

In addition, they plan to introduce an environmental directive, which states that the most harmful pollutants should be eliminated, the quality of gasoline and diesel should be improved, which must comply with EU norms and standards.

In addition to this, in accordance with EU laws, special parking lots should be arranged near each house, and not in green areas as it is now. After all, now in Ukraine there are no legislative acts on environmental standards.

The law has not yet been adopted and there are rumors that it may be postponed for revision, but nevertheless, the fact remains that the plans are to introduce mandatory scheduled maintenance.
