Electric cars are now becoming more and more popular and the statistics of import to Ukraine, sales are growing very quickly. As a result, the number of charging stations for these ecological vehicles will grow.
According to previously known data, 731 electric cars were imported to Ukraine in 2015. According to preliminary data from analysts, in the first half of 2016, this figure will triple. If VAT on electric cars is abolished, and they want to introduce this into the law, the import rate will increase by at least five times by the middle of 2016. Such data was provided by the Oxygen Group company. It is also worth noting that this company was the first to open the "Oxy-Taxi" service, the fleet of which consists of electric cars, and the fare is lower than in a regular taxi.
According to the director of this company, they were the first to open stations in Ukraine for express charging of such cars; the abolition of VAT will entail many advantages of electric cars over ordinary cars, especially for those who drive within the city. First of all, this will affect the price, they will decrease by a fifth of the total cost of an electric car. Due to the current cost of fuel, electric cars are often imported into Ukraine at a reduced cost at customs. For example, a Nissan Leaf can be issued for $ 2,500 and labeled as seriously damaged. According to statistics, losses to the budget will not be significant, comparing dependence on imported energy resources. It should be noted that this step is also aimed at improving the environmental situation in large cities.
According to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine and already signed agreements, Tesla Motors plans to open its own charging stations for electric cars in Ukraine. To begin with, there will be three charging stations throughout Ukraine. It has not yet been specified where exactly these charging stations will be located, but rather they will be in three different parts of Ukraine, where the busiest traffic flows pass.
