It would seem that there is enough information on the diesel scandal and the results are finally known. In fact, this situation will last for more than one year. Mercedes-Benz decided to pay for the modernization of diesel engines in Germany, thereby renewing its reputation. According to various sources, the owners of Mercedes cars with diesel engines of the Euro 5 class will receive 3,000 euros for their modernization. Such a move is caused by an attempt to once again avoid a ban on the company's diesel cars in Germany. For the money received, the owners will be able to upgrade the exhaust gas cleaning systems.

Mercedes decided to take such a step after the new law on the possibility of municipalities to ban diesel cars in their cities that do not meet Euro 6 standards. At the same time, no transitional periods are envisaged. That is why Dailmler decided on such an unprofitable financial step. The modernization of the diesel unit implies the installation of new filters, thereby reducing the emission of harmful gases and particles. This will not only bypass the ban, but also allow owners of older diesels to continue to drive on the streets of Germany, primarily such subsidies will be offered to diesel owners in cities where similar laws have already been enacted (for example, Hamburg and Stuttgart). To speed up the procedure, the owner must submit an application via the Internet, on a special page of the Mercedes company. Dr Pley SCR Technology has developed the first such modifications and packages to reduce diesel emissions. Testing was carried out on the top-selling E220 and E250 models. This package was approved by the German Road Transport Authority and allowed for modernization. The price of the whole set is 3000 euros.

It is worth recalling that earlier the manufacturers of diesel engines in Germany suggested in every possible way to solve the problems of diesel cars by updating the software. This avoided the modernization of equipment and forced to buy new cars with newer diesel engines. The disagreement of the owners made the manufacturer go to a meeting, allocating a certain amount for the modernization of the units and the exhaust system. The question remains, when and how the money will be transferred, or the owners of diesel cars will not see this money at all.
