BMW X6 2020 - a new luxurious "Bavarian" with a rich package

By releasing the premium BMW X6 2020, the Bavarian automaker tried to show all its best practices in the automotive industry. At the same time, the car retained the layout of a compartment crossover with a sporty character and did not lose the corporate accents inherent in other models of the brand.

The official presentation of the novelty took place at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It differs from its predecessors in a modified body design, rich interior equipment and advanced technical characteristics. The mid-size X6 has managed to surprise both BMW fans and independent experts.

External appearance

Externally presented BMW X6 2020 did not undergo global changes. The engineers integrated only a few accents that made the exterior more modern and expressive. The following original touches appeared on the front:

1. Redesigned headlights of head optics. The devices themselves have expanded, and a system of adaptive matrix lighting appeared in the basic configuration. According to the manufacturer, the headlights are capable of illuminating a distance of 500 m.
2. An oversized radiator grille that lends a menacing look to the exterior.

At the rear, the BMW X6 2020 has received updated stop signals, consisting of LED instruments. The bumper in the stern has become more textured, and the plastic insert is made in a different design.

The exhaust system is integrated into the bumper and consists of 2 chrome-plated trapezoidal vents. At the same time, the rear projection of the BMW X6 2020 has not lost the signature aggression characteristic of the entire design. Crisp and rough accents are accentuated by similar side lights that extend on the sides. The sloping tailgate is completed by a chopped spoiler with an elegant relief.

The interior design of the novelty repeats the style of previous generations of the BMW X5, including the latest version. The front part of the cabin is equipped with an identical instrument panel, a massive tunnel with a small gear lever, as well as various adjustment elements for the settings of standard systems and an all-wheel drive platform.

While the exterior design looks aggressive and sporty, the interior retains luxury and coziness. Such results are provided by a competent combination of expensive finishing materials with rich onboard equipment and decorative inserts.

For finishing, premium solutions are used, including luxury leather, aluminum inserts and luxurious fabrics. Interior decoration can arouse interest even among the most capricious motorists.

The analog dashboard has been replaced by a 12.3-inch on-board computer that displays basic vehicle performance data. An identical diagonal was received by the iDrive 7.0 multimedia and entertainment package with a branded assistant that recognizes voice and gesture control.

The central tunnel is equipped with ergonomic cupholders for heating or cooling beverage bottles. Also in this part there is a cigarette lighter powered by a 12V on-board network.

Below these elements are the basic controls, including a selector for selecting operating modes, air suspension control and a Start / Stop button.

The automatic transmission lever is distinguished by its miniature size and ergonomics. It is made of high-end rock crystal and is decorated with the brand's brand logo with LED backlighting. Depending on individual preferences, you can replace it with a corporate brand logo or design in a 3D style.

The driver's and front passenger's seats have gone through global changes. Now they have become even more ergonomic and got quality support on the sides with extensive adjustments with memory of positions. Starting from the basic configuration, the seats are heated and ventilated, and are also equipped with an electric drive with 3 fixing settings.

The second row of seats received additional roominess due to the integration of a special recess in the ceiling. As a result, tall passengers (1.7-1.8 m tall) will be able to feel comfortable being in the back. For some riders, the lack of height adjustments may seem like a negative feature.

Passengers on the back seat have access to an armrest with a lever for changing the climate system settings and a multimedia kit, which consists of two 10.2-inch tablets fixed in the backs of the seats. In the basic configuration, the boot capacity is 580 liters. When the second row of seats is folded down, its volume increases to 1,530 liters.

The equipment of the cabin is the strong point of the crossover and has practically no pronounced drawbacks. Both the driver and all riders are offered easy access to advanced options and systems. Luxurious solutions were used as finishing materials, which change depending on the modification of the car.

The basic configuration provides several options for the color palette of the body:

• brown.

For an additional fee, an individual interior package is available - for example, the snow-white Merino leather upholstery. This option will cost 349 thousand. Also, the customer can choose a completely black interior with a branded delay.

The integration of elegant aluminum and black wood inserts is also an option, for which you need to pay at least 63,900 rubles. Carbon fiber inserts are also used as a decorative addition. Their price is 102,200 rubles.

Already in the "base", the interior of the BMW X6 2020 is equipped with LED illumination and edging around the entire perimeter. On the door structure near the driver's seat there is a button for activating the electric drive of the trunk lid.
