In 1989, after the execution of Nicolae Ceausescu, who served as President of Romania, all of his property was confiscated and transferred to the government of the country, including a huge fleet of vehicles with a rare Mercedes 350 SL 1973. In 1989, after the execution of Nicolae Ceausescu, who served as President of Romania, all of his property was seized and handed over to the government of the country, including a huge fleet of vehicles, including a rare Mercedes 350 SL 1973.

Ten years later, the country's government decided to sell the cars that once belonged to the former president, and the aforementioned Mercedes convertible was one of the first to find its new owner.

It is noteworthy that the new owner, whose name has not been announced, was extremely careful with the car, having driven only about 13.5 thousand km. He also sent the car to Germany for full diagnostics and replacement of failed parts, of which there were not so many. It is curious that the car was almost completely preserved in its original form, even the "native" tires of 1973 were preserved. And now, 15 years later, by the will of fate, the Mercedes 350 SL was again at the auction, but contrary to all expectations, the car did not cause a stir among collectors and was sold for only $ 55,720.

Experts note that previously cars with a similar historical past, which for one reason or another were put up for auction, have always been valued much more expensively. Therefore, the situation with the convertible can be safely added to the list of exceptions to the rules.

Unfortunately, the buyer of the Mercedes convertible chose not to give his name, but journalists managed to find out that part of the proceeds from the sale of the car went to charity.
