The Bavarian carmaker BMW is rightfully one of the three world leaders among premium cars, producing not only civilian, but also special "charged" versions of its models. Until recently, charged modifications were presented exclusively by passenger cars, among which were the M3, M5 models (the M6 and M7 versions were added a little later), but in 2009 the auto concern first demonstrated a charged version of the full-size X5 crossover, which received the prefix to the name - “M ". It should be noted right away that the M-series is not an ordinary factory tuning of a car - this is the true philosophy of the brand, the pinnacle of the elite.
A few years later, the company showed a charged version of the X6 crossover, the second generation of which was officially presented in the summer of 2014.
As before, the car received a pronounced sporty exterior, more powerful engines and new chassis settings, thanks to which, while driving a crossover, you can easily confuse it with your charged passenger brothers. In terms of driving pleasure, the BMW X6 M is amazing, but not without a fly in the ointment. But first things first.

It will not be a revelation to anyone that the appearance of the car is the first thing that attracts the attention of any motorist. And with this, the updated BMW X6 M 2016 model line is all right. In comparison with its predecessor, the exterior of the crossover has become more aggressive, dynamic and impetuous.
The specialists of the Bavarian brand's design studio managed to make the technological components of the exterior in such a way that they not only fulfill their intended purpose, but also make the car's appearance more attractive and original.
The front part of the crossover received new head optics, a massive bumper with built-in air intakes, and a large false radiator grille, traditionally made in the form of two "nostrils".
Along the edges of the front bumper there are special vertical slots that form a thin stream of air that flows around the front wheels while driving and reduces air turbulence.
The crossover profile has also become more dynamic. Compared to the regular BMW X6, the M version received original stampings along the body, as well as functional air intakes located on the front wheel arches.
The rear of the car also received a number of updates, in particular, more elegant rear optics, a massive rear bumper and aerodynamic body kit, as well as four exhaust pipes spaced on different sides of the bumper. Special attention should be paid to the appearance of exclusive light-alloy wheels R20, which, if desired, can be replaced with even more massive R21, which will make the car's appearance even more sporty and attractive.
The second generation BMW X6 M is slightly larger than its predecessor:
- Length - 4909 mm (an increase of 32 mm);
- Width - 1989 mm (an increase of 6 mm);
- Height - 1702 mm (12 mm gain).
At the same time, the clearance of the "charged" modification is 10 mm less than the standard one and is 195 mm, which, in general, is not bad either. Despite the increase in dimensions in almost all planes, the weight of the car was reduced by 40 kg (up to 2275 kg).

The interior of the updated X6 M is made in the style of the classic X6, however, representatives of the automaker emphasize that the interior of the "hot" version is finished with higher quality and more expensive materials. Traditionally, the central dashboard is slightly turned towards the driver, which makes the control of the multimedia system and the microclimate control unit more comfortable. Above the multimedia unit, there is a large touchscreen display featuring high image quality and wide viewing angles.
The front seats are represented by sports buckets, capable of boasting the presence of a variety of electrical adjustments, there are even electrical lateral support adjustments.
Between the seats in the first row is a large multifunctional armrest designed to ease the driver's lot on long journeys.
The interior of the new BMW X6 M is rich and presentable, the manufacturer did not stint and when creating it used exclusively premium quality materials: soft plastic, Merino leather, natural wood and even Kevlar, which trims part of the front panel, as well as side door pockets.
The ceiling is covered in black Alcantara, which once again reminds us that we are dealing with a luxury car. The second-row seats are capable of accommodating three passengers - there is enough space both in width and length, but overhead, because of the compartment-like body, there are end-to-end seats, and tall passengers may be somewhat uncomfortable here.
The luggage compartment volume is 580 liters, which is 10 liters more than that of the previous generation, and it can be increased to 1525 liters by folding the seats of the second row of seats (folded in a ratio of 40/20/40).

Under the hood of the updated X6 M is a petrol V8, which has been significantly improved. So, despite the fact that the engine volume is the same 4.4 liters, it was supplemented with a modern automatic variable valve timing system, modernized injection and an improved exhaust system. Fuel consumption in comparison with its predecessor has decreased by 20% and is about 11.4 l / 100 km in the combined cycle.
The crossover also received an updated all-wheel drive system (xDrive) and a reinforced suspension, which is represented by a double wishbone at the front and an Integral-V multi-link system at the rear.
In addition, the car is aggregated with adaptive shock absorbers, which have several operating modes - comfortable, as well as two sport modes. The xDrive system is equipped with a multi-plate clutch and a DPC differential for the rear axle that can control the thrust vector. All four wheels are equipped with disc brakes with active ventilation system and modified calipers.
Despite the fact that the car is equipped with an electric power steering wheel, the crossover drives close to the reference level, which allows you to literally "lick" the turns and easily maneuver in city traffic.

BMW decided not to compromise and equipped the car with a huge number of modern active and passive safety systems:
